Pantone Color of the Year 2016
Pantone put a twist on the official color of the year for 2016…they picked 2! They named Rose Quartz and Serenity, as the 2016 colors. This pairing is softer than recent years, and the Pantone experts believe that the blend reflects “connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace”. What a great vibe for a wedding! The softness of the pastels are romantic and can really set the tone for the entire wedding.
Make the new “it” colors your own by adding a pop of color to really bring out your personality. Pantone suggests pairing the duo with greens, purples, rich browns, yellows and pinks. They also suggest silver and hot brights to add a great splash and sparkle. My personal favorite would be adding a deeper, more saturated, pink to the mix. I think the variation of pinks, with serenity, would give a nice depth and texture. Pastels have made a comeback in the last year, now you can use serenity to add a pop of color to those pastels and find inspiration to create your perfect day. It’s time to break out the Pinterest boards and get busy with this great color palette!
