Two Caterers // February Vendor to Remember
I had the opportunity to chat with Carly Ziemer, Director of Sales at Two Caterers about their amazing business. Two Caterers works in conjunction with High Line Car House and a brand new venue, The Fives, as well as offering off-site catering.
Get a Taste for the Company
CEO Angela Petro founded Two Caterers 22 years ago, which translates to incredible service, due to their years of experience. Their team caters all types of events from 10 boxed lunches for a meeting or 3,000 hot meals for a conference. We love companies that can cater all sizes of events…and do it well! They are the exclusive caterer for High Line Car House, but they can also work at any venue that fits your vision! They want each client to have a customized experience, and they are pros at collaborating with venue coordinators to make every detail special.
When to Find Them
Two Caterers can join your wedding team at any step in the process. They’ve planned weddings in less than a month, but ideally, you should contract with them about six months out. Carly, Two Caterers Director of Sales, says their team values their strong relationships with event vendors and venues. This is one reason we love working with them!
When you find them, ask about their company values. They pride themselves on living by these to ensure every event runs smoothly:
– Do what it takes
– Love what you do
– Have fun doing it
– Leave it better than you found it
– All for one, one for all
Two Caterers & The Fives
The Fives is their newest venue in Downtown Columbus! This building has two spaces: The main space on ground level can seat 350. But you can book it with the beautiful rooftop terrace that overlooks downtown to host up to 1500 guests! This space will host it’s first events in April 2020 (booking now!), and they could not be more excited for this opportunity!
The Process Once You Decide
When I asked Carly about their process with couples, she was very confident that her team makes planning for the big-day easy and effective! Once you reach out to Two Caterers, you’ll get an initial tour and a wedding guide that includes their pro-tips like when to schedule your tasting and when to plan meetings with your catering specialist. They walk you through every detail, so that you’re not making your choices alone (hopefully we’re right there with you!). The most fun part of the process: deciding on the menu!
Carly also told me about their event staff and how they are trained. I was happily surprised with how much they prepare their staff. Their 60-70 team members have an intense training period that includes 10 sessions and cross training for different types of events. In preparation for your wedding, the Two Caterers Staffing Manager ensures that all staff working your event receive a detailed itinerary – with every single detail down to the names of your parents and your favorite cocktails.
This is another reason we love working with the Two Caterers team – a good, well-trained catering staff and really elevate your wedding guest experience.
“Our team members know who and what is important, and they take care of it!”
Biggest Piece of Advice
Carly immediately knew her answer to this (and we couldn’t agree more!):
“Focus on what you want and not what you think everyone else wants. Not all 150 guests are going to be happy with your menu. Choose your favorites and have fun! It’s your day!”
We have loved working with Two Caterers over the years, and we like to think they enjoy working with us as well!
“Communication is important and Jennifer instantly gets back to us. We can solve problems together, and our clients really have a team around them to make their day amazing. We focus on doing what’s best for the clients.”
