A THREAD of Hope is Sam’s Fans biggest fundraiser each year. This was the 8th annual event (minus a virtual year thanks to COVID). It was biggest fund raiser we’ve ever had! Each year, we plan a bespoke event in October with entertainment, live music, silent auction and a fashion presentation by THREAD. This year, we added a live auction with a professional auctioneer! It’s an event that we are proud to be a part of each year, and are thankful for the opportunity to help such an amazing organization.

Sam’s Fans is a non-profit organization created in memory of Samantha McCarthy. The organization was founded by Sam’s mom, Nikki McCarthy. It is dedicated to promoting and enhancing music and art therapy programs that serve seriously ill children and their families. The organization works with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ohio University and individual families.

Miranda Boyle, founder and owner of THREAD, became friends with Nikki many years ago. They created an immediate, life-long connection. In October of 2015, A THREAD of Hope was born. Each year, the event grows and creates a huge impact for Sam’s Fans. 

Our 2022 A THREAD of Hope raised over $250,000 for Sam’s Fans!!

With support, Sam’s Fans intends to continue to fund Music and Art Therapy programs throughout the country, raise awareness, and educate people on the significance of these practices.

Planning A THREAD of Hope 2022

This was our 5th year planning the event with an amazing committee of women!

The event is a lot of hard work, but thanks to some amazing local vendors, sponsors and the planning committee, the event was a success. It was another fantastic evening full of drinks, food, music and fun! We came back from our previous pandemic years with a bang!

Our theme for A THREAD of Hope this year was ‘BE BOLD’. It was Sam’s Fans motto for 2022 and it worked for our theme – after the colorful rainbow in 2021, we decided to be little more classic with a striking color palette of black and white. This year’s event partners showed up in a big way and we’re so thankful for their support to make the event fun and unique each year.
