Wish Upon A Wedding // Morgan & Daniel

Wish Upon A Wedding

This past May we were was asked to be a part of Morgan and Daniel’s wedding, working with Wish Upon A Wedding, an organization that works with couples that are dealing with a serious illness or a life-altering circumstance. Together, with local companies and vendors who are kind enough to donate their time, resources, and money, they give each couple a wedding at no cost to them.

We felt honored to work with this organization and with the Columbus vendors, who give more than a wedding to these couples. It shows the true heart of a wedding.

“Thank you so so much for everything you did to make our day so wonderful. We are so happy! It was the most amazing day!!!

-Morgan & Daniel

Morgan & Daniel’s Story

When I “met” Morgan and Daniel for the first time, it was over the phone.  We were all a bit hesitant with how the process works.  They were so sweet, kind and reserved in the planning – our challenge was how to make this special day come together in the way that best fit their vision and make it happen within our short planning timeframe.  We had only 8 weeks to pull it all together.  Finding the team wasn’t difficult – our local Columbus vendors were more than willing to donate their time, services and goods to this amazing couple! They really are the sweetest couple, so we wanted to try and make all of their wedding dreams come to life!  The Dispatch did a whole article on their incredible story,  scroll through to see the amazing photos captured by Rouxby Photography and video by Little Tree Studios.

Getting Ready for the Dream

The wedding was on a Wednesday evening – a nice change up from our standard Saturday nights! Morgan got ready at the hotel with her best girlfriends, where Shannon Goode and Joy Macke did their magic to make everyone gorgeous. Daniel and his guys hung out at GoodFellas for a little pampering themselves.  They had their first look at Schiller Park – the Ohio weather did not disappoint that day.  It was a little windy, but perfect for outdoor photos!

The Ceremony

It was an intimate ceremony at the front end of High Line Car House. Rita, with Prema Designs, designed the amazing ceremony décor with a gorgeous row of raised florals and petals covering the aisle!

Magic Couple

Morgan looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and her girls wore these magical flowing light gray dresses that couldn’t have been more perfect. The guys looked pretty stellar too.

The Details

Morgan had visions of a neutral pallet. She knew she wanted some blush, but she left a lot of the design up to us – we planned so quickly that we just had to give her an idea of what we had in mind, and then execute it and hope she loved it….and she did.

We wanted to give them some personal details – it’s hard to get to know a couple in such a short amount of time, but they gave me some ideas from our first conversation.  By creating custom table numbers with photos of their dog, their engagement location and things that are special to them, we added special touches.  We were also grateful to have our local Hofbräuhaus donate soft pretzels (Daniel’s favorite food) for the late-night snack. Sarah, with You’re Invited, created the beautiful, simple stationery (invitations, programs and snack stickers). Kate with The Lesser Bear kindly donated her silk ribbon to add the perfect touch.

We created an escort mirror with Emma Gilbert that turned out beautiful! Again, Rita gave us the wow factor with her floral designs and we accented those with beautiful textured blush linens and chargers. And always, Short North Piece of Cake created the perfect cake to top off the day.

Thank you to the amazing vendors who donated their time and services to this amazing couple!
