Franklin Park Conservatory // Aly & Anthony
Aly and Anthony’s wedding was one I’ll never forget! I had so much fun helping to create the perfect day for them at Franklin Park Conservatory- full of gorgeous flowers, delicious food, and so much love and laughter.
When I first met with Aly and her mom Pam, immediately the atmosphere was fun and enjoyable. Most of the wedding planning was done with the two of them which was perfect because Aly had just the right mix of calm, assertive, organized, and fun!
Aly is a busy between work, friends and family, and she has an attention to detail and efficiency – she even created pivot tables for the wedding (I don’t know what they were for, but they were pretty)! Before Aly found Something to Remember, she had already booked Franklin Park Conservatory and had her eye on Simon Yao.
When I stepped onto the stage, we figured out how best to utilize the venue spaces, find the right vendors and create the perfect design. We didn’t just use one event space at Franklin Park Conservatory – we used The Palm House, Wolfe Terrace for the ceremony, the Community Garden for the cocktail hour, the Wells Barn Lawn for the tented dinner, and The Wells Barn for dancing!
Aly and Anthony wanted a classy wedding, but with so much life in this couple and their friends group there was no room for boring or stuffy details. The first place we looked to shine through this delicate balance was in the color pallet. We choose a unique mauve color mixed with griege (if you haven’t heard it before, it’s a mix of beige and gray), ivory, and greens. These colors brought an earthy tone that was equally bold as it was soft and romantic.
Vessel florals did an incredible job with the pieces throughout the day. The combination of colors mixed perfectly with a large focus on greenery. The arbor for the ceremony was draped with mauve silk fabric to create a romantic arch over the beautiful couple.
I got to know Aly and Anthony through planning over a couple drinks (my favorite way to plan!), and they both made the the process easy. She was the perfect bride; as we communicated, I’d give her options, and she chose quickly and easily. Her attention to unique details is something we, as planners, love!
Aly and her girls were stunning. The girls’ had custom made skirts and tops like no other maids we’ve seen at one of our weddings before. Check out those adorable sneakers she had made for each of her bridesmaids!
We wanted cocktail hour to be the kick off to the greatest celebration, complete with pizza fresh out of a stone oven – paying homage to Anthony’s Italian side! We adorned the cocktail tables with a rose velvet linen, in the perfect shade of mauve. A little bit swanky, a little bit urban and a lot of Aly and Anthony’s style.
We didn’t want your standard wedding for Aly and Anthony, but we also didn’t want anything too extravagant. One way to make your wedding stand out is with stationery – this wedding’s paper goods were nothing short of amazing. From the unique handmade mauve cardstock save-the-dates to the engraved invitations (complete with vellum wrap, silk ribbon and monogram wax seals) to the mauve calligraphy to the custom Franklin Park Conservatory mapping to the personalized, wood backed menu cards with a silk ribbon bow….Cheer Up Press knocked these designs out of the park.
I love finding new ways to do classic things – enter mirror escort boards. With calligraphy names, sealed with the couples new monogram, guests approached the mirrors as they were greeted with a champagne pour. The reception tent was high with chandeliers and lots of florals centerpieces. The reception tables contrasted the cocktail tables with an ivory on ivory neutral pallet.
Time to Party
With live music playing and the couple dancing the night away, there was not a bored person in the room! Elegance and class meets fun, flawlessly.
And of course the night wouldn’t be complete without late night Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers!
